I have an aunt who lives in Germany and I made a spontaneous trip to visit her around Christmas. What caused me to visit her is because she tempted me.
Before I visited her, we talked on the phone often. We had not seen each other for 17 years. I was 3 when saw her for the first time and I was 20 at the time. She was telling me things like, "I filed for a two week leave around Christmas. So I will be home then." "My son's wife will be visiting for two weeks, and you too?" "If you visit me, you are very welcome here." "It is so fun here and my son's stepson is 5 years old and he is so lovable and cute." "I have some stuff here that I want to give you."
Somehow she persuaded me. I only lived with my mom and she was always working. I ended up booking a last minute flight to Germany from the states a few days before Christmas and I did not tell my aunt. I did not even tell my mom that I was going. Then I was at the airport and said, "Surpise! Come pick me up!" She acted surprise and said that she didn't expect me at all. But I think she anticipated it. She kicked her husband out of the bedroom and slept with me each night.
Well it turns out that her life wasn't peachy after all. She was having problems with her husband and had financial problems. She had trouble even paying for gas and asked me to help pay for food and gas. It seemed like she didn't like my unexpected visit, and even gave me her food leftovers to eat after her husband had an affair with me! I ended up wasting my time and my money.
Why did she lure me into visiting her? Was that a mistake on her part?
