My mom thinks she has certain diseases
Post Body

I dont know if I'm on the right place. If not sorry in advance and please redirect me.

My mother keeps thinking she's sick. It started when my mom thought she had lupus. I don't even remember why she thought she did but we took it seriously. I would skip work to take her to appointments or because she wasn't feeling well etc. Until finally to was able to go to a specialist. I sat down with the doctor and he proceeded to explain the results. She did not have lupus. She was severally depressed.

It was a shock to all of us but my mom refused to believe it.

We kind of grew distance after that. However, I would later hear from her church friends and people she knew that they were sorry about my mom and that I should take care of her more. I was confused. It turns out she had started telling people she had lupus. And then started going to Mexico to self medicate.

Throughout all this she tried going to doctors to prove she was postive for lupus. Because we all kept tell her she didn't. We even tried taking her to therapy but she would refuse and get angry when she didn't have medication to take.

As of recently she has started to say she has cancer. She does not have cancer. We've seen her results and her blood work and test results are normal. I do not know what to do anymore.

Does anyone have any advice on what I should do?
