The obvious upgrade at center by adding Alex Mack (which has helped and justified the resigning of Chris Chester)
The addition at DL of Dwight Freeney (locker room leader/mentor) and Courtney Upshaw (making big plays) who have both won SB rings (only players on our roster with rings)
Sanu Canoe and Aldrick Robinson have made major contributions, Sanu's blocking is undervalued in the run game
With others facing injuries, Wheeler and LaRoy Reynolds have contributed at LB when they get snaps
I think these signings have helped keep our team focused and have them sticking together as DQ wanted. With players like Freeney and Upshaw who have won SBs, to backup/PS types like Robinson and Reynolds, and major contributors like Mack and Sanu, our FA signings have collectively been a success despite many of them going down this season (Shelby, Clayborn, Spoon, etc.).
EDIT: Gabriel was claimed off waivers, so not a FA signing. Still an excellent claim.
