I'm using the first nexus 7 from 2012 tethered to my fairphone for internet access.
Mtk put some code in their proprietary Bluetooth app that requires you to unlock and "allow" the tethering connection. Every single time. So because they unnecessarily added code to make the usage of their device more inconvenient I installed another shady app called "MTK Bt Tether Auto Allow" that doesn't seem to be available anymore. It seems to work in a way that it kills the lock screen, "allows" the connection on the dialog and then locks again.
Okay, so now it's usable. Except relatively often the Bluetooth connection disconnects. It's then impossible to reconnect until I take the fairphone, unlock, disable Bluetooth, enable Bluetooth and lock again. Then Bluetooth connections are working again until the next disconnect. Sometimes it works for a few days, sometimes it disconnects several times a day. Today it already disconnected two times. I think it happens mostly when the mobile data connection is bad.
I guess it's the advantage of proprietary Bluetooth drivers and software.
Does anyone else have that problem?
