What ores to enable in Bob's, Angel's and RSO mod settings?

I just started a new factory to give Bob's and Angel's with RSO a shot for the first time. When I started my factory, I enabled all of the ores in the mod settings, since I don't know what I'm doing. Is this wise?

I ran into this comment in another thread, which had me wondering if I had made a mistake or not.

I am a bit confused about what these settings are for. Can someone explain to me the impact of enabling/disabling these ores in Bob's/Angel's, and what the ideal setting are? If i disable all of these ore spawns, will I still get the low level ores used in tier 1 refining?
