Weird lag when trying to start multiplayer with Landfill mod active

I'm running Factorio 0.11.22 with Landfill 2.1.4 and I have an odd issue: whenever I try to load up my world in multiplayer mode, I get severe stuttering as though someone's having network lag - except no one's connected.

I had a friend try creating a new world with the Landfill mod, same version of everything, and his world opened in multiplayer mode without freaking out.

Anyone have any thoughts on why this might be happening?

UPDATE: The bug seems to have suddenly self-resolved. I have no idea WHY, but the world doesn't lag anymore. shrug
