So I took a trip from Chicago to Cincinnati and back on Friday/Saturday. I filled up on Tuesday and reset my trip 2 screen. On Friday, I drove out to Cincinnati, started driving back Saturday afternoon and decided to fill up about mid trip. There were 551 miles on the trip 2 counter, and it said I had averaged 23.9mpg over that 551 miles. I filled the tank and it took 26.04 gallons until the pump stopped. That comes out to 21.2mpg, 2.7mpg less than the computer calculated. I figured 551 miles should be enough for it to calculate a pretty accurate number, but I guess not. Are these computers supposed to be accurate, or more of a somewhat close estimate?
