In y’all’s (more experienced) opinion, should I go 10 ply 295/60r20, or 8 ply 35x11.5r20
Post Body

I just a few weeks ago put on some 275/60r20 falken at4ws (8 ply) in my 2016 f150 XLT 4wd (stock height). First not-stock LT tire I ever had, and god do I freaking love them! I got that size because I wasn’t sure when I was gonna be able to put a level on, and that was the biggest I knew for a fact I could get on a stock suspension (and it drove me crazy trying to pick, seeing as I had no experience actually driving on larger/more ply tires), and I was adamant about not getting an E rated tire. But some fortunate things happened and this weekend I’m getting bilstien 5100 leveling struts and rough country vertex rears installed!

So now that I have some reference, while I do LOVE the 33x11s, I know I will want to go a bit bigger after I get the level. I’ve narrowed it down to these two sizes, and I’d like some of y’all’s input if you don’t mind. They things I’m thinking

295/60r20- I think this is the perfect size I want after the level. With them too I won’t have to worry about rubbing/trimming at all (they’re gonna be on stock 20s), and I won’t have to worry about “what if” I went too big. Only “kind of” downside is that I would have to get an E in this size. But honestly, I went from 265/65r18 SL tires to the 8 ply 275/60r20s (slightly less sidewall), and I LOVE the way the heavier tires feel/ride, so honestly I’m not as worried about going up to an E, especially when I’m gaining an inch of sidewall AND seriously upgrading the suspension

35x11.5r20- Now this option, would definitely ride softer, because not only is it more sidewall than the 295s, but I can (and would) get these in an 8 ply since it’s available. Also, I would KNOW for a fact I would not want to go any larger, so that’s kind of comforting. But with these I might have to do some trimming, and there’s a possibility (from pictures I’ve seen online) they might make my overall height a bit taller than I’d like. I also feel like since the width is the same but it’s a taller tire, and an 8 ply vs 10, it would not perform quite as well as the 295s.

I know that was a lot to read y’all, but what do you think? Thank you!
