Post Body

Hey all.

So, I apologize in advance for the length of this -- I've been dealing with this symptoms for my entire 39 year life, so if this is overly detailed, it's just cause I don't want to forget anything.

I've been nearsighted my whole life and have had glasses since my teens for an astigmatism in my left eye. I've also had multiple heart surgeries (4 before I was 9, 2 since my 20's) so my body has gone through some serious trauma.

In my 20's, I began to get more nearsighted, double-visioned on occasion, lowered peripheral vision in my left eye.

I also have some physical symptoms that I suspect are related for reasons I'll explain in a second, and in many ways feel like scoliosis -- my right foot is always tilted to the right, my body feels like it's always at an angle, my back never feels straight, like my lower spine is shifted left somehow. I also have some jaw misalignment, which will become relevant in a second. And this last part always gets scoffed at, but I'm incredibly sensitive to vibrations. If I stop at a light next to a semi, or my dryer is running, or recently on vacation I could hear the vibration of the hotel's AC through my pillow, and I woke up with my jaw clenched hard. In certain cases the vibrations actually make my right eye wiggle right to left.

I cannot express how anxious I feel saying the above, because when I do people look at me like I'm Chuck from Better Call Saul.

I went to a new optometrist recently, who helped diagnose me with Aniseikonia -- the first time she used the machine to show me how my vision could be corrected, I could feel my brain screaming "omg this is what I've been trying to correct, than god!" lol.

I got prismatic lenses, and when I put them on, no word of a lie, my physical symptoms got better. My right foot rotated properly, my back and neck and jaw started shifting (and in the case of my jaw and neck, cracking) as if going back into the spots they belong in. The vibrations became easier to deal with. It was like some sort of magic was putting my body back together.

Unfortunately they are only good for reading at close-range and can't be used for driving/day-to-day. So when I sit at my desk, I feel ok, but if I get up to get a drink or do anything, my jaw gets really tense, as does my right eye. One time I accidentally wore them while driving around all day, and by the time I got home the whole right side of my face was sore.

So now it's been a couple years and I've basically stopped wearing them. I'm once again in constant pain, and no closer to finding a solution. My optometrist said the only way to correct this is to get $4,000 visual therapy, that I absolutely will never afford.

Meanwhile, I can't help but wonder if all of this would fix itself if I just got Invisalign and fixed my teeth/jaw alignment. My back left teeth don't close together properly, which makes me head feel like it's constantly tilted to the right....

Guh I don't know if I've even explained my symtpoms or question correctly. I feel like I'm rambling at this point. But if anyone can give me a direction to start in, to find out what exactly is going on with me, I would be so grateful
