Hello Exxxchangers!
Recently Reddit announced some changes regarding involuntary pornography and I want to take a few minutes updating this subreddit with it. It’s also high time that we had a new sticky post.
This is the updated sitewide rule so please click on this to take a look for yourself
Now for the most part we’ve not had a major issue with such content on our sub, but going forward I would like to cut down the few posts that do engage in such content to zero.
Again as a reminder, the rules in the sidebar are pretty clear cut as to what to post on here. Please go through them especially if you’re new.
Some subreddit news, we crossed the 30K mark of subs a while back so that’s great to have so many of us here. (Granted that many are throwaways and/or deleted accounts.)
On a sidenote, I’ve been thinking of revamping the CSS on here. Do you guys have any suggestions as to how you to make this sub prettier and more relevant to you. On a related not, how many of you even use a computer to browse this? Our subreddit metrics doesn’t really involve third-party app traffic.
Now I’m just gonna copy the old stuff below so if you're new carry on!
ARE YOU NEW? PLEASE READ ON FROM HERE
How does this work?
- Make a post so others can respond to it: Click on the submit button and write a post saying what you want or what you're offering. Make sure your title has a tag in the format X4Y (X is your gender, Y is the gender you're seeking).
- Or respond to posts from other people: If you like someone else's post you can private message them and see if they reply. To do this just click on their username to go to their profile then click on the "send message" link under their name on the right.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get more and better replies?
Be more specific, add more details or talk more about what you like or dislike. If you give partners an idea of where to start or what to avoid it gives them a chance to connect to you right away, which makes it less difficult for them to approach you. Don't be too vague. Try putting the time that your post will be valid (eg "I'll be around for the next two hours", "I'm always available for this", or "I'm free until midnight EST") to avoid confusion.
I messaged someone but they didn't respond or stopped responding.
They may be busy, might have already found a partner or not want to continue the conversation. That's okay, not everyone is going to hit it off. Try to make a new post or contact a new potential partner.
Should I leave a comment on someone's post telling them that I messaged them or to message me?
No, comments and messages are received in the same inbox so that would be redundant. And if you want to respond to their post you should be the one to message them. Commenting PM'd on someone's post will constitute as spam.
Can I send someone a picture of my genitals?
Well r/exxxchange is for porn. Your genitals do not really constitute porn that is produced by the big porn companies. Anyhow, we do not have any control over the flow of the conversation that happens in PMs'. If you hit it off with your partner and they ask you for it they hey that's good for you! But remember - If they asked you to do so, yes, if they didn't ask you to do so, no!
Why did I get a downvote?
Sometimes people downvote because they think your post could use improving and other posts should score above yours. Sometimes people downvote because they're trolls and have nothing better to do with their time. You don't know which it is so don't take it too hard but it's a good idea to look over your post and see if you can improve it.
To reduce the impact of troll downvoters get into the habit of viewing sorted by "new", which shows posts in chronological order and is more useful for finding partners.
How do I know my partner is the gender they say they are?
You don't. Pressuring anyone to send "proof" of gender (photos, etc.) is harassment. DO NOT DO THAT! We strongly suggest just taking people at their word regarding their gender. You'll enjoy the sub more.
I have a suggestion or more questions.
