ELI5: Is there a buoyancy equivalent to terminal velocity? If so how does it work?

Terminal velocity is the maximum speed any one object can fall if dropped from a great height. Is there an equivalent term for this when an item that floats is dragged beneath the surface of a body of water and released? Does water pressure at different depths have an effect? How about fresh water vs salt?
