Post Body

I have some old analog cameras my grandfather gave me. He kept them in very good working condition. Since inheriting them, they've been stored such that there are no moisture or temperature issues. But now I'd have to get them adjusted for them to work 100% perfectly again.

I'm not really asking about cameras specifically. This situation just reminded me that it's pretty normal for things in long-term storage to just not work right anymore after a while, with or without electrical components. Why is that?
