ELI5: If semen gets reabsorbed during a retention, how come we have nocturnal emissions?

When I don’t ejaculate for a while, I always get nocturnal emission. Also, my penis starts leaking pre-ejaculate after I pee. It seems to me like semen is definitely trying its best to come out instead of being reabsorbed.
