What countries may be most comfortable for large, mixed race families?
Our timeline to leave is probably in the next two years, and we have 5 children (ages 6,7,8,9, 10). We are a mixed Black and white family. Our priorities are healthcare, human rights, education and quality of life. I have wfh income from a US based company of about $55k that I may be able to keep, and we have additional standard monthly income of about $3k that we will definitely keep, but my husband has a traditional job he'll lose when we move. Canada is probably too expensive for a family our size.
So far we have Yucatan, Mexico and Costa Rica on our list.
Okay, I'm hearing plenty of feedback about which countries are not a good fit. Are there any suggestions for what may work well for us? Island nations? Should we try harder to make Canada work financially?
Not a one of us. If we limit ourselves to English speaking countries it becomes a much shorter, much more expensive list. It's possibly still viable, but I would rather examine all options.
I'm hoping if we give ourselves a two year runway we have enough time to learn foundational skills in the language we'd. We would hire a tutor to come work with all seven of us together before leaving.

Yep, I was specifying that specific state within Mexico. We are interested in Merida. :) Thank you for this info!
