I've Been An Expat My Whole Life And It's Lonely
Post Body

I've been used to moving country every 2-3 years, with my longest stint being 8 years in one place. My family moved for work and I just followed them from place to place growing up. Many schools, many friends and extended family members where contact has been lost and it's been hard to rekindle the relationship as time goes on.

I've just moved to London a few months ago, and although have been trying to meet people, I just have this familiar feeling of loneliness. I've found it hard to build strong relationships with others, but it's familiar, I'm used to it.

The feeling of loneliness is something I didn't really fully understand until I started doing therapy for it, and it's a huge challenge to overcome.

Just wondered if other expats felt the same, or had similar experiences?
