Bank accounts for the US

So I’m an American and I no longer have a bank account in the US. Im currently living in Japan and there are somethings I need to do in the US that I can only do with a US bank account.
Is there a way to open a bank account while overseas? Any that are legit?
Edit: I should also add I don’t have a valid US ID other than my SSN and Passport.
