I work in tech and have been looking to change a job for a while after living two years in Berlin. Finally I have an offer from a London company which is a bit more than 118k pound bonus stock per year and the other one in Berlin which is around 110k euro.
I like both cities tbh, although my German is only A2 and of course I speak a fluent English so for me it would be much easier to integrate in London. In addition, the roles I want to pursue from now on are much more customer facing roles, which require fluent local language, meaning that in Germany I won't be able to get these roles until I become fluent and it can take more than a year.
The only thing I'm worried about is the rent prices in London and the total higher costs than in Berlin.
Although again I think that for my profession I would have more opportunities in London than in Berlin in the future.
What would you do if you were in my shoes?
