Hi! The same apologetic individual I mentioned in my other post scoffs when I say that women in the ME, especially SA, are generally oppressed and dont have agency (I've heard of the girls who were essentially killed in a school fire because they didn't deserve to be rescued due to lack of hijab, women being dragged back to SA Etc). He cites that women in SA now can drive, drink, wear whatever they please freely. Would love to hear directly from those who are more informed and can speak from experience. thanks!
