I find it curious that many ex muslims here have left Islam to only just end up in another religion.
How does this work? Did you decide one morning that the Bible version made more, um, sense? Or was it to align with a partner, family or community?
Obviously I’m an Atheist (or more accurately I was an Atheist but the endless BS drove me to now classify as an Antitheist) so I find it strange if you’ve been brave enough to walk away from one cult (arguably the nastiest one) why go straight into another?
I live with the cold comfort of being certain of my eventual oblivion and non-existence, so whatever nasty threats the various cults say is easily ignored and laughed at. But imagine for someone converting its precarious 50/50 coin toss if you fry or not.
Both cults are certain their opponents are going to sizzle forever (such a stupid concept, but not relevant here) and with an even split of global groupies, it seems such gamble which one is correct (obviously neither).
I guess my question is how do you reconcile this in your own mind and do you live with a nagging fear that you chose wrong?
