Why do Muslims try to convert you the second you mention you’re an ex Evangelical or Christian?

Post Body

I’m not an ex Muslim but the past year I deconstructed from Pentecostalism (which is just as bad as Islam) and I’ve slowly been trying to rebuild my life (it would help if I could afford to move out of my parent’s house). Anyways, I probably shouldn’t have been so public about it in my MMA group chat since it opened the floodgates for some of the guys who are Muslims to start personally dm’ing me stuff like “come to Islam brotha”.

I don’t get why they would try to convert someone to a religion that’s essentially Pentecostalism/Evangelicalism on steroids. I spent almost 20 years being isolated from the outside world and the only reason I wasn’t as bad as other kids who grew up in was due to the fact that my parent’s were generous enough to send me to public school. The last thing I would want to do is waste another 40 years in an religion that’s even more strict than the one I was raised in.
