So I was riding in the wagon of one of Brussels' metros today, listening to music (via my newly acquired Spotify Premium account, fuck yeah), reading the newspaper and above all, minding my own business.
But then I started faintly hearing a woman's voice through my headset, and I had it on maximum so I figured that the person speaking must be shouting really loud.
So I pressed pause and took my headset off, and yes, there was a woman practically screaming. But as it turned out, she was actually preaching and guess what she was preaching?
Bingo, Islam!
I listened to what she had to say to the commuters and I figured she wasn't really sure herself what she was talking about. For one moment, she was saying that we have all lived our lives with too much sin and it is time to repent, but don't worry, Islam is a religion of forgiveness, just turn to Allah! Then she started talking about the end of the world, and the signs that Muhammad gave us of its nearing. Some other random ahadith were spouted out of her mouth and also that they (the commuters) will be turned into pigs and monkeys like the ancient Jews.
So after not being interested anymore I put my music back on and continued reading my trusty newspaper. When it was finally my stop, I again paused the music, took my headset off and stood up.
As she was right behind me and next to the door, I had no choice but to stand next to her waiting for the car to come to a halt. Then she started speaking to a woman behind me (still shouting, of course) who was wearing a headscarf. She was trying to teach her a lesson about educating her children in Arabic.
And that's when I had enough as my eardrum was about to explode, so I turned to her and said: "Women are not supposed to raise their voices in Islam."
Then that noisy bitch finally shut her trap. And those around us starting clapping their hands. I then put my headset back on and walked out in the coolest way possible.
True story.
