I live with my TBM family and the missionaries stopped by the house and asked for water (we live in AZ and it's very hot). They know that I'm exmo and we had a decent conversation while they cooled off and the only mention of the church was their name tag.
On my mission we had this elderly couple who weren't in the church but were very friendly to us and we would go over and celebrate things with them or go look at the flowers they planted, and it would be a nice time.
I remember how I felt visiting that couple, and it made me happy that even if I've left the church I feel OK being able to provide something like that, however small it is. I remember how it felt having a safe place to go on my mission, and I hope that these missionaries get to know some awesome people, regardless of religion.
