Hey all, I've been physically out of the church for a couple years, but I haven't officially had my records removed from the church, because I don't really know how, and my parents are understanding enough that they have deflected any contact from the church to me before I even knew about it, so I haven't really had any trouble.
However, I am moving out of my parents' house in a couple of months, and something that has been on my mind is the possibility that my records transfer to where I'm moving and I start getting harassed there. So I've been thinking about resigning for the past little bit, and I just wanted to ask a couple questions to the people who have been through the process.
What's the process like? How much of a hassle is it, how long does it take, etc. What are the logistic parts of the process like?
When you resigned, how hard was it for you? If it was, can you name what made it hard? Idk why but for me thinking about it has made me kind of anxious, and it's a really hard decision for me.
I would really appreciate thoughtful answers, even if I don't respond to them all! I've felt a lot of validation and help from this subreddit in the past couple years as I have been taking my journey out and I'm very grateful for everyone on here.
