I brought up with my dad on Wednesday the idea of if God protects the temple of Kyiv why wouldn't it become a refuge for children, and elderly, and the disabled who can't leave, as well as pets and stuff. He said it would remove the sanctity, etc., etc. It wasn't built that way and become a target. But alas I digress. It came up in conversation that the Church will never condemn the things that are happening because of the Article of Faith saying, "We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law." (Article of Faith 12) And while the Berlin Wall was up and the Russians were doing terrible things, the Church again refused to speak out, and encouraged its members to lay down, follow the leaders, not revolt, etc., etc. Because of that the Gov. apparently let them build a temple behind the wall despite them refusing to cooperate with any other religions so now the Church is doing the same thing with Ukraine. They are never going to say anything so they can keep doing deals with Russia. Keep their missionaries there, build new temples, and the members believe that the Church can reason with Putin, and Nelson will stop the war by just talking to Putin and "softening his heart to see the ways of the Lord." I hate it all. I hate it so much and I just had to vent an let it out. Like this is not the time to just sit back and "reason with Putin." He's a dictator parading as a President. He is killing women, children, dogs, cats, men, innocents, and more. And this is NOT his first rodeo. He doesn't care about the Lord! I just felt so insulted for the lives lost, the memories burned, the homes destroyed, the liberties shaken because We as members of the church of jesus christ will ALWAYS support the laws of the land, if we are enslaving people, killing Jews by the millions, or shocking the people who aren't Cis. Fuck off, the laws of the land aren't okay, and you shouldn't love your "morals" or "values" because it "isn't your place to fight the laws." Your members are dying, your potential missionaries enlisting in the cause because they as Heleman once had to do was fight for their women, children, and freedoms. But we can't be bothered to do more than pray for peace. So much for following the BoM and its teachings. I'm just so upset.
