Does anyone remember a GC talk where (I think President Hinckley) talked about a man who lost everything after leaving the church? I’m trying to explain to a friend why 2% of the time I think it’s a punishment for my new life choices because God is angry at me… I want to share excepts from that talk. Rationally I’m not convinced I am being punished, but I can’t get that damn talk out of my head when bad things happen to me.

Edit: I should have been clear that my friend is not Mormon and does not understand at all how I can sometimes feel anxiety that I’m being punished, or that my leaving the church is potentially the cause of the said rough point in my life.
