Do we have more than just five senses? What does it mean that the human heart has an electrical impulse detectable within 30 feet? Are all living things really connected at the quantum level?
Where do you draw the line between "science" and "woo?" And what do you do with "woo" once you have identified it? Are you comfortable exploring ideas that are "woo?" Or do those go straight into the "reject" pile with all of the rest of the supernatural BS that you rejected from Mormonism?

I don't typically share episodes here on reddit, but this episode of Infants on Thrones is a particularly interesting conversation for me -- with Chelsea Shields (trained in both "hard" and "soft" sciences with a double PhD in both Cultural and Biological Anthropology) and Dave Sonntag, former deputy science director at the Pentagon, where he was nicknamed "Dr Weird Science" for the things his team investigated and the projects that they funded. I'm interested in having similar conversations like this on IOT and am curious if any of you here in exmormon reddit are interested in hearing and/or contributing to these kind of conversations (the way Dave did -- a listener who emailed us about a previous episode that then turned into today's conversation).
Chelsea speculates at the end of this episode that because Mormons are trained from a young age to look for the unseen, it can make them better prepared to ask questions and push on the limits of scientific understanding. Do you agree? If so, is that a good thing?
So if there are things you want to say or questions you want to explore in these kinds of areas, I'd like to know, either through a personal message or discussion here on this thread.
Thanks,
(Glenn)
