This is a weird question but it came to me after talking to my sister in law who has had previous issues with her bishop since she decided to leave her abusive ex.
So my SIL decided to go to DWS to see if she qualified for any type of assistance as her hours were recently cut and she’s been struggling with her kids. So she gets the normal she doesn’t qualify, she should be getting child support (she’s supposed to be but he doesn’t pay) go to your local ward and ask the bishop for help.
She said, she has went to them for help but they keep telling her she needs to forgive her husband and go back to him even though he was an abusive alcoholic. The worker states well maybe you should listen and then you wouldn’t have to look for help. She asks this same worker if she wasn’t a previous church member would they be giving them the same advice? They said they would be encouraging them to join.
Is this an Utah thing or just another way to get people to join the damned cult?
I get it she would have enough maybe if her ex was paying child support. They can see he owes her but when you combine her income even with hours being cut and the child support she makes over. Never knew they included that as income.
