What are some good arguments/evidence to use to help explain why polygamy is bad?

So obviously polygamy is bad right. Intuitively it feels that way, but I feel like I need a better answer to give than it hurts women and feels icky because without good evidence I often hear people say stuff like “oh they just did it to help give the women rights to own property” or “most of the women they didn’t have sex with” or “all the women together had more power than the men”. What’s a good way to explain why it’s so bad?
