Scriptures and books?

Post Body

Hello fellow exmo’s and happy second Saturday. I wanted to ask for an opinion on something. I have been out for quite awhile now (records not yet removed but that is getting closer I think as my wife is starting to see things 🥳) I have zero desire to keep any church books, it’s an easy consideration given I know I will never return, and I hate it around the home for the kids see it. When the friend or ensign magazine show up at the home (that my parents subscribed to for all their kids) it goes straight into the trash (recycle), kids don’t even see it.

But, for some reason my old scriptures from my mission I cannot bring myself to throw away. They were the small two book version, very nice and I made a case out of the box with electrical tape with funny stickers like who’s your daddy. I have special photos in there, I wrote myself some wonderful things, awesome quotes etc…I will NEVER read them again. They sit on a shelf.

I can’t bring myself to toss them…anything else church related for sure no hesitation. (With the exception of the Chad Daybell baptism book my mother in law gave us for my middle child’s baptism (I think it’s funny to bring up on occasion she gave us a book from a murderer)

Is this a challenge to anyone else? Not tossing them? If the day does come that I throw them out, I will likely roll a joint with one of the pages. (Maybe I should roll one anyway)

Thank you for reading
