Self help books to get out of purity culture
Post Body

Lately, I have been feeling a lot of shame about my body and being sexually active. Although it’s been almost five years since I left the church, its teachings still very much affect me and my relationships.

So I was wondering if anyone knows of any good self help books that helped you with this or a similar issue.

I’d also like to know if any of you know the feeling that your body isn’t yours to enjoy because it supposedly belongs to god or your future spouse but certainly not to you.

Disclaimer: I know self help books can only do so much and therapy is recommended. I do have a therapist but insurance will only pay for a few more sessions.
