Tonight I 38[m] went out as an openly non Mormon person tonight with my coworkers at a work conference for the very first time.
The sense of community I felt with them sharing my exit story and a few drinks was really sweet. They were so kind and gracious in listening to me explain why I was deciding to drink after all these years. There was a sense of togetherness in sharing a drink at dinner which just felt nice.
The separation that was previously there on account of being a āpeculiar personā was gone. I just enjoyed the evening without any of my former identity markers in the way. I didnāt get really drunk. I just had a nice time. If this is a victory for Satan then Iāll gladly wear a devils jersey.
