i used to live in Utah when this happened, but i wanted to ask if anyone has also seen stuff like this or heard about it? i remember the temple grounds being closed on easter sunday and there was a family that invited me in. they closed the gates as soon as i was escorted to an underpart of the temple (not from the main doors of the actual building itself, but a seperate section to the temple that connected to the parking garage). i had no recommend, and i wasn't dressed in a white shirt and tie either, so there really was no reason for me to have gone in. i thought i'd try and visit the grounds just to kinda vibe a bit, but i didn't know they were closed on sundays. there were a LOT of young adults who also drove their cars underneath to the underground parking section of the temple, but they never came back up after being there for at least half an hour. that was the only reason i thought it wasn't closed that day.
i've talked to friends of mine, former friends, and even church leaders about it and i've gotten mixed responses from all of them. friends/former friends have mentioned not having any clue, let alone not thinking to ask leaders in their own areas, some have also questioned how i found that area and when i asked them about it they responded with "you'll figure it out one day" or "you'll find out sometime soon, maybe," and just keeping it to themselves, while leaders i've spoken to denied the existence of it in private conversation but in public with other people, they said "don't go underneath" as if it was a bad place or something like that, while there were some kids i had overheard a conversation from mentioning how they were planning on "exploring what was through the double doors" that evening. although this was a few years ago when this happened, it's been one of the reasons why i had left the church.
does anyone else know about these things, events, heard about stuff like this happening etc? i mentioned the double doors because they looked as if they were the height of some older nordic sized doorway that you would see in movies, i'm average height and they stood at least 3-4 times taller than i am.
EDIT: figured out how to edit the post... all of the suggestions are valid, and if me speaking out about this gets me banned from the thread then so be it. it needs to be mentioned 🤷 yes, all of this did happen, however, with my own experience being there, aside from being invited, i was being questioned about basic info like who i was, my age, if i had a recommend or if i was a member, and with each step they took towards me my skin felt like it was burning. by the time i was escorted back up above ground, my skin was really red for at least an hour and a half. among other things, i could not for the life of me get myself to open my eyes around them no matter how hard i tried to open them. all i could do was stand there and answer the questions they had while feeling like i was being burnt alive... one of the temple patrons also took pictures of each limb of mine (yes, i was clothed, just not "temple/sunday standard white shirt and tie") by limbs i mean he took a photo from his phone of each of my legs, my arms, torso, head, and each picture he took he looked more and more disappointed and nervous. he asked if i had a recommend, and ofc i said no, but again, they still allowed me the option to go underneath when i had mentioned being a member at that time. i mentioned the police being called in the comments, and they even gave me the option of going underneath or back above ground. they told me they would leave if i were to go through those doors, but if not then they would escort me back up top.
among other things, several weeks later when asking about it, there were a few people i had spoken with on temple grounds who, for what ever reason, stated it was urgent for me to find a bishopric leader to discuss what was going on and what happened. i had spoken to two different leaders a few days apart, the one i mentioned before the edit, as well as one i had not mentioned. the one i hadn't mentioned until now had asked me to come back to their ward the following sunday to discuss the matter further with the stake president and his counselors, as well as that bishop and his counselors.
yes, i withheld a lot about what has happened before this edit, and that was on me. if it gets me banned from here then so be it, however, i cannot deny what has happened for the life of me. i got nervous because i've spoken out about these things before and it's almost always been labeled with conspiracy or me being called "crazy", when there have been friends and former friends of mine in the past who have confirmed there's more to those doors than what is led to believe... again, i'm sorry to have withheld more details...
