I’m going to be 50 years old next month. I’ve been in the church my entire life… you know, raised in Logan Utah in the 80’s. I have also struggled with the church my entire life. Iv been doing the “right” thing the entire time. I’m married to a woman that has also been a lifer in the church, only she IS a believer. I would go as far as to say almost to the debilitating level. Now don’t get me wrong, I do love this woman but I feel lately like I’m loosing my mind. I have had some really crazy desires lately and they just appear to be getting stronger. Our marriage isn’t perfect, in fact it’s kinda the opposite. Ok, onto the questions and requests.
I’m one who loves to be spontaneous and adventures, I love being adventurous and is what brings me lots of joy. She on the other hand, isn’t like this and I believe her upbringing and church is to blame. While we were dating, I was what you would say, a “partier” and she new what I was like. I feel she was way way more adventurous both in the bed and in life. Now it’s just gotten…. Well kinnda boring. It’s almost like we are desperately looking for others to do things with to feel alive again, have normal conversations with people. I’m beginning to seriously resent the church, her family and just about everything. It’s scaring me! I don’t know what to do. Maybe me just venting here will help! I love my wife…..! I’m super frustrated with the church or maybe just religion in general!! Life is short and I mentioned my age…… Im worried I’m wasting time. I don’t want to pull here away from the church, it’s important to her.
Anyone else been here? Are here? What advice can you offer?
Also, just to be clear…… I ate a gummie tonight…. I don’t regret it either!
Yours truly, Escapefromreality
