So for context I'll just state that in my country getting a higher education is a pretty serious deal in the org not sure if its the same everywhere else...my PIMI Dad who was also an elder did not care about this and he insisted on sending all his kids to college...he paid for and ensured my siblings went to school and even assisted my senior sibling to get his masters..he follows up pretty good on me(I'm still in a university) and ensures I'm doing well academically and that I'm fine and he is also preparing me to get my masters once I'm done with my program...because of this he lost his 'priviledge' as an elder and basically became an outcast in the cong...he constantly got pressure from the cong not to send us to school but he insisted no matter what he wanted to ensure we have what it takes to survive in the real world...sadly this put a strain on him mentally and emotionally. We all could see what it did to him, how he became depressed and slowly became a shadow of himself but unfortunately being PIMI keeps him in the toxic borg
I remember a couple of times I was on field with an elder(that usually requested to work with me in particular lol) and he spent hours trying to convince me that not going to school and taking up full time service is the best option...when he saw I wouldn't cave to the pressure he called all my friends in the cong aside one day and told them to stop associating with me as I may corrupt their minds lol :) they told me
Fast forward to a couple of years later...my senior siblings are done with school and earning six figures and in times like this lockdown where there is financial strain on everyone guess who the cong looks to for financial assistance :)...although I and my siblings are PIMO we still help out...we bought a lot of food stuff for people in the cong and helped who we can financially but I just find it very funny how the very same people that encouraged us not to achieve higher and get good jobs are now depending on us for help and show no reluctance or shame in asking lol...the exact elder that tried pressuring me was among the first to reach out for financial help and foodstuff but he asked his wife to ask instead of him lmao
My dad is one of the few unique PIMI fathers that never bought into that bullshit ideology and I appreciate and love him very much...our love for him is the only thing that is keeping us from coming out as full POMOs...atleast not while he is alive...and although its stressful and frustrating I'm willing to do it for him...I just wish I could help with the mental strain he went through during the years the Borg kept pressuring him
