I always thought this was a weird move even as a PIMI. I'd hear talks here and there about you should only follow people you've met or know well. Be careful with friends of friends kinda thing.
Like sure some of that makes sense from early internet safety days. But when I was in I wanted to use social media to network and find more JW individuals like myself. Often get rejected friend requests even when mutual friends are over 100 people. Which sucks for dating lol I digress.
I'm venting because today this toxic practice struck my younger cousin. Her older sister already blocked and unblocked and stalks me but my younger cousin was the rebellious one. Bent all the rules, got kicked out of parents house at 18 for dating a FTM trans person. She celebrated holidays when she was out/before Baptism etc. But because I'm posting my joy and doing holidays and hosting parties I got cut.
The only person I didn't think was a hypocrite when it came to stupid doctrines has fallen deep into the cult. And I know she goes out to bars or concerts with co workers and also acts all humble with a young Elder pioneer couple.
If she saw her life now back when she was say 20 she wouldn't believe it for a second. Being the fake person she loved to hate.
