I find it fascinating how Jehovah's Witnesses are vigorously attempting to control information and manipulate the term "Apostasy." It brings to mind the era when JWs refrained from saluting the flag in the 1950s. During the Red Scare, anyone deviating from the norm was branded a "commie," regardless of the actual definition. We were labeled as such for not saluting the flag.
JWs have stigmatized the term "Apostates," but the crucial question is: why are "Apostates" deemed so influential? What drives numerous individuals, including former Governing Body members, to become "Apostate" after dedicating their entire lives to JWs? They claim that merely a few words can lead one to abandon the "true religion." This suggests a significant power dynamic, where Satan seemingly can sway individuals with mere words, undermining decades of devotion. It appears that years of studying and reading the Bible have little effect. This raises doubts about the strength of God and his teachings compared to the influence of Satan and his followers.
Or maybe it is because the word of God is sharper than a 2 edged sword, capable of overturning deeply entrenched beliefs. A glimpse of the genuine truth might enable one to finally comprehend the significance of Jesus' words: "The truth will set you free."
