So, Halloween has always been my favorite Holiday. Probably the only one I ever regretted not getting to experience as a kid. I love costumes, creepy stuff, and horror movies.
Anyways, last Halloween I got dragged along as a DD for this bougie fundraiser party at our local Natural History Museum. Definitely not my usual scene. Overall it was super fun (intoxicated uber affluent people talking about their vacation plan problems aside). I work in and around our local social services, so I don’t have a lot of warm fuzzy feelings towards the wealthier residents in my town.
Sorry, I’m getting off track. Funny part was… The photographer for the whole event was an Elder from my parents congregation. Of course he refused to acknowledge me. I’m not DF’d or DA’d. The elders in my area are (surprise surprise) almost all related by marriage and $$$ from personal businesses that involve bending rules that most strict JWs wouldn’t dare.
Good reminder of why I left before getting baptized and sinking in deeper. The people giving orders in the Org are total hypocrites and/or only sticking around because they know it’s all BS and just want to die comfortably in the life they’ve created around themselves.
