I've only been to a few Orthodox weddings and they have all been varying degrees of late. My partner and I drove 4 hours to a wedding on a Sunday that was supposed to start at 3:30. By 7 pm we had to bail because they still hadn't started. I'm invited to a wedding in a week and the mother of one of the newlyweds could not give me a specific time and I'm nervous of travelling only to catch 30 minutes of a wedding.
Ex Orthodox or yeshiva folks, is this standard? Please share any thoughts you have on this to enlighten me.
