It is highly concerning to see reactions of certain members of the churches of Christ to the recent riots in Washington DC. In a recently recorded sermon from the Mount Vernon Church of Christ in Mt. Vernon, TX, a member gave a sermon about how he "understands" those who are calling for a "civil war" or "revolution", he went on to call a nearby community (Redwater, TX): "Completely controlled by Calvinist Doctrine." I am very concerned that churches of Christ will be on the front lines of another Civil War. It is deeply concerning to see a group who once didn't care about politics, only the Bible, as they say to move to a complete alignment behind the outgoing President.
