Came to my hometown this weekend for a wedding and staying at my parents’. They live streamed a church service on the tv so I heard/saw the service (didn’t think it would bother me that much). I couldn’t help but roll my eyes a thousand times as soon as they went into the end-of-service-call-to-Jesus-with-sad-music-playing-routine. Literally every church service of any church follows the same outline. It’s such a fucking scam. The preacher has been talking in a sad baby voice about “God wanting us to come to him” and “just wave so we can pray for you” and “I know there’s a lot happening in your life and a lot of trouble blah blah blah” like pulling out peoples sad emotions to take advantage of them. It’s SO ANNOYING. It’s crazy to think that I EVER sat through things like that and thought it was actually real and not fucking planned. It’s like they follow a script. Ugh
