First Time Learning About Pangea
Post Body

Hey all,

I am a 23-year-old ex-Christian who grew up homeschooled and majorly immersed in Christian teachings. I barely know anything about the earth that isn't from a Christian perspective. All I know that that people who aren't Christians believe that humans were once monkeys.

I just learned today that there was a time when all the continents were one and it was called Pangea. This apparently is a concept that is well-known.

I don't feel mad or deceived or tricked into not knowing things that are apparently common knowledge but I do feel like I have majorly lived under a rock and that there's so much about my own reality I don't know. This new knowledge is so significant because it disproves the idea that the world was formed by the whole "let there be light" creation story.

Just needed somewhere to put this.

Edit: Thank you everyone for your comments and resources! I didn't expect this post to get this kind of attention. I will re-read each of your comments thoroughly and look into the links and sources you all offered :)
