Post Body

As I walked from the museum/science building to the cafeteria the other day, there was a girl standing in the middle of the courtyard with a poster that said something to the effect of “Was life created?” Having just left a biology class, I was put off by the question. I didn’t want to engage but I got close enough to see that she was Jehovah’s Witness. She was there to preach. Particularly inappropriate given proximity to the science hall, but really not something I want to see on campus at all. It’s a public school and religion has no place there in that capacity. Especially a religion that is so against higher education. From jw.org, their official website, “Higher education can lead to moral and spiritual dangers”.

My question is- does anyone have any good experience getting the preachy religious stuff off their campus? Any luck with separation of church and state arguments since they’re state-funded?
