Conversations with an old friend
Post Body

Holy shit I hope I wasn't this nuts when I was in the faith. I'm positive I wasn't but you never know how ridiculous you sound when you are immersed in a cult.

Today an old friend stopped by and he were catching up on our careers, our families, and old friends. He doesn't know I left the faith. Most people don't as I don't really care to tell people who I know will want to try and convert me back and pray for me.

Some of the highlights:

  • He's not saving for retirement at all. Why? Well he is convinced Jesus is coming back before he retires. I responded with "people have been convinced for millennia" and left it at that.
  • Marriages cannot work without Jesus as the center and the man leading with the woman submitting. This is gross, and I had no response for it.
  • Same sex marriages are a big no no with some hate the sin love the sinner bull shit. "Well beauty about the USA is they can live their lives and you can live yours."

Everything was Jesus this Jesus that.
