I might start posting Sunday Story threads more often since it’s nice to have a place to vent and so others can keep giving me advice on what to do next. Anyways here it goes:

So my mom’s been having back spasms and today it got really bad to where she had issues walking. Hopefully it’s not anything serious but she’s very stubborn and doesn’t want to get told anything. I tried telling her to go to the ER or Urgent Care but she’s deciding to get acupuncture instead. I’m not knocking natural medicine, but when you’re having back spasms, I think going to a doctor is a better option.

However, the issue I had is that she brushed it off as the “enemy” attacking her. Anytime there’s a setback with our church where it doesn’t grow (we don’t even have a building or members) my family constantly blames on the “enemy” or “the devil. I can’t stand it but I think the reason it’s not growing is because Orange County, the city that my dad pastors in, is already very religious so they’re not as open to it. But they can’t stop and consider that people just might not be interested in converting to Pentecost.

The biggest takeaway from is my dad started to talk about what to do if he decides to shut it down. Which is crazy to hear but I’ve kind of seen it coming at some point. He decided to jump the gun because he said God started to deal with him about going to Orange County. Then a older preacher told him “you need to do something on your own”. He took that as a sign that he needed to leave our old church and he want didn’t want any support.

But that came back to bite us in the rear because now we don’t even have a building or members. Honestly, if it keeps going the way it is where he can’t find a building and there’s still no members, I could see him shutting it down in a year so. Having said that, I don’t want to be around when crap hits the fan so I’ve been working on getting a job to move out of the house. I applied to Jacoby and Meyers Law firm in L.A so hopefully I get accepted.
