Help showing use of tool based on name and date.

Post Body

I have included an imgur link below that I will reference.

Picture 1 (Month, User, Tool 1, 2, and 3 as headers) is the raw data; a box populated with β€œ1” means the tool was used in that month. I am trying to show what months the tools are being used by the specific person. Pic2 (with month headers) is what I had in mind to accomplish this, but I need help getting the boxes to populate based on the name, date, and usage from the raw data. I was Thinking highlight the boxes in green if the tool has been used in that month, and red if not used. I.e. Under β€œname 1”-β€œtool 1”- every month would be highlighted green except for May.

The third image is also a possible setup to show the information, where I would have separate tabs for each tool, and only names and dates within the sheet; if that would be an easier means to illustrate the information. In reality the raw data consists of close to 100 names and 7 tools, spanning from Feb-August. It would be nice if the function would work in the future when usage of future months is added.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. My mind first went to using Vlookup or IF functions, but I have had difficulty finding useful information online. My first time posting here, I apologize if I left out any critical information.
