I think I'm getting myself in way over my head, but if someone has a resource to help me figure out how to do this, please share.
I am hosting a virtual workshop on the topic of digital marketing. I'd like to run the workshop with a sort of board game.
My idea is that the game board is basically a chronological line, representing a digital marketing campaign journey. Say 16 squares from start to finish. (Let's say A-P)
The goal of the game is to develop as many "leads" as possible.
Two teams would get an identical set of 10 cards. Each card would represent an element of a digital marketing campaign. 1 card might be "landing page" and another card might be "email". And so on...
Teams would have to lay out their 10 cards in the order that would make up their digital marketing campaign. So in this example, with 10 cards and 16 squares, 6 squares would be left empty when the team has finished. The order would represent a timeline of when each thing would "go live."
Here is why I am posting this in an Excel forum.
Each team will theoretically space their cards and put them in a different order than the other. This should have an impact on the points, i.e. total "leads" earned at the end.
For example:
- If someone puts an "email" card in square C, it would get them 10 more points than if they put it in square D (i.e. earlier action has stronger results)
- If someone puts the "email" card before the "landing page" card, it would need to be a "Nil"/zero result, since you can't send an email without a landing page.
Since there would be scores of potential outcomes of what the teams produce, I don't even know where to begin. Is there any resource anyone can recommend to help me figure out how to structure this in Excel (or maybe another tool?)?
