Entering alt value if formula returns '0'

Post Body

Column A has simple formulas to pull values (months) from a different worksheet. Some cells return a value of '0' as they don't correspond to anything in the other worksheet. If the cell returns a value of '0', can I have it pull the most recent cell value instead?

Since the cells already have a formula, my thought would be that it needs to be a conditional format. Can I IF/THEN a =LOOKUP to pull that last known value in conditional formatting? Or is there an alternate solution I'm overlooking?
