I only have excel 2016 at work. I work in transportation and I often need to compare one list of people to another to see who is on our list and who is on our customers list. I’ve been doing it using filters and conditional formatting, but I’m positive there is a more effective method.

Each person has an ID number assigned that both we and the customer use, so ideally I’d like to compare the two and see any difference. I’ve tried using the compare and merge function, but I keep getting a message saying they can’t be merged. They’ve both been shared.
