What can I use to rank smaller datasets within larger datasets? Rank.EQ doesn’t seem to be up to scratch!

Post Body

Hi all,

I am trying to figure out how to complete, what I believe to be a simple task in my head but cannot find a way to resolve on excel through multiple google’s!

Column A I have Manager names Column B, respective employees Column C, metric achievement

This way each employee is mapped to manager.

I would now like column D, to provide a rank of Metric achievement per employee (but only within respective manager team) I.e if there is a total of 9 employee’s in Manager A’s team, I would like this rank to appear out of 9.

Issue is, I have 42 managers, 400 employees.

I do not want to do this manually, could someone please point me in the direction of what formula(aes) would be best for this situation?

Many thanks in advance!

Edit:

Thank you so much for your responses- incredibly grateful for the support and great tips. I’ve learnt so much.
