Best practice for linking data between workbooks with auto updates?

Post Body

I am creating a Master workbook that will pull data from 8 other workbooks all on the same shared drive. Each data set will be its own tab on the Master workbook. The data in the Master workbook will be pulled and used for Power BI. What would be the best formula or method so the data is continuously updated to the Master? I'm thinking "paste link" but i feel like I am missing something. Would Automatic Updates using Trust Centre tool be a better option?

Edit: Partially solved. I use get data and pull from file/folder. Looks like i will have to work with my company on creating a script to have the data auto updated a few time a day.
